Meet the Coaches

One of the benefits of being part of the Flat Belly Diet! online community is that
you have access to the expertise and guidance of four expert coaches:
- Liz Vaccariello is Editor-in-Chief of Prevention
Magazine, the 10th largest magazine in the U.S. and a trusted source of health and
fitness, and breakthrough medical news for millions of readers for over 50 years.
A favorite part of her job is hearing from her monthly readership of 11 million,
and addressing their concerns both in the magazine and through other Prevention-branded
projects. The Flat Belly Diet is one such labor of love. In addition to understanding
her audience, Liz is part of it – a wife and working mother of twin daughters
who knows what it’s like to see the belly bulge from flat-to-fat, making it
all the more gratifying to her that she can now present you with the Flat Belly
Diet Antidote.
- Tracy Gensler Aside from consulting with restaurants and
food companies, registered dietitian Tracy Gensler serves as a nutrition expert for
other Rodale websites. She is the author of Probiotic and Prebiotic Recipes for Health
(Fair Winds Press, 2008), co-author of The Anti-Aging Fitness Prescription
(Hatherleigh, 2006) and has written menu plans and sidebars for several books,
including fitness guru Denise Austin's The Tummy Type Solution (Rodale Press, 2007).
Gensler has a B.S. in clinical nutrition from Syracuse University, an M.B.A. from
MarymountUniversity, and an M.S. in nutrition education from Rosalind Franklin
Universtiy/The Chicago Medical School.
- Samina Riaz is a registered dietitian and has worked for
Prevention magazine since January 2008. She holds Bachelor's degrees in Nutrition
Science from Queens College and Marketing from Hofstra University. Prior to returning
to school to earn her second degree in Nutrition Science, she worked as the Marketing
Coordinator for WABC-TV, New York where she coordinated numerous health-related
campaigns. This inspired her to continue helping people live healthier lifestyles
through proper nutrition. Samina has written numerous nutrition articles for the
American Dietetic Association's Student Scoop Newsletter including "Foods that Fuel
the Brain" and "Five Ways to Prevent Holiday Weight Gain." She has also worked
directly with clients and patients in providing them with therapeutic diets and
nutrition counseling.
- Michele Stanten is Fitness Director of Prevention
Magazine. Certified by the American Council on Exercise and a member of IDEA: Health
and Fitness Association, Michele has been covering fitness and weight loss for more
than a decade. She understands that fitting in time for exercise can be tough –
she juggles a full-time job, taking care of her young son, spending time with her
husband, and all those other responsibilities we share. But Michele keeps coming
up with creative solutions to help make training a little easier to take on.
